Instructional Leadership

The office of Instructional Leadership serves our schools within the Puyallup School District by influencing instructional practices. Our department is responsible for identifying, recommending, and implementing instructional materials, programs, and services for students that are aligned to research and best practice.

We provide direct support to school principals, teachers, and paraeducators on the implementation of the Puyallup School District’s adopted instructional framework, by:

•     Creating diverse and rigorous learning opportunities that meet the unique needs of each student;
Ensuring that each student has the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of essential standards aligned with their grade level and/or content areas;
Promoting the importance of communicating each students’ academic progress to designated family members; and
Providing ongoing professional development opportunities for staff that align with the Puyallup School District’s main mission of improving instruction, student growth, and achievement

The Puyallup School District has focused its efforts and aligned resources around the implementation of a response to intervention program at each school.  Our goal is to have a response to intervention program at each school that is designed around a collective responsibility mindset (all staff fully engaged in supporting all students) with clearly defined essential standards, assessment opportunities, and academic support.

The Puyallup School District is committed to the academic success of each student with the end goal of graduating on-time, college and/or career ready.
