2010 Levy Information: Voter registration information
Pierce County residents not yet registered to vote in Washington who missed the January 11 mail-in deadline can register in person through Monday, February 1. In-person voter registration is done at the Pierce County Elections Center, 2501 South 35th St., Suite C. in Tacoma. The office is open weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
To register to vote in Pierce County, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day.
- Be a United States citizen and Pierce County resident.
- Not presently have civil rights denied as a result of a felony conviction.
- Not have been declared by a court to be mentally incompetent and ineligible to vote.
Voter registration forms are available at each of the Puyallup School District’s 32 schools, the school district’s Education Service Center, public libraries, staffed fire stations in unincorporated Pierce County, city clerks’ offices, most state offices, and the Pierce County Elections Center.
Forms may also be printed or filled out on the Internet at www.vote.wa.gov (must have a valid Washington state driver’s license or state identification card to apply online).
If registering by mail and it is the first time registering to vote in Pierce County, applicants must list their Washington state driver’s license number. If the applicants do not have a state driver’s license, they must provide the last four digits of their Social Security number.
If neither of those forms of identification is provided, enclose one of the following: a valid photo identification; a valid enrollment card of a federally-recognized Indian tribe in Washington state; a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, or paycheck; or a government document that shows the applicant’s name and address.
