Junior High Schools

Overview

Registration

Students new to secondary schools should contact school offices for registration appointments. For more information, call (253) 435-6726.

School Supplies

The following is a list of basic supplies that might be needed at any junior high school. Individual classes, such as language arts or math, might have additional supply requirements. For more details, go to your individual school's Web site or call your school's office.

  • A 2-inch, 3-ring binder
  • Notebook paper
  • Notebook section dividers
  • Three pencils
  • One blue or black ink pen
  • A colored pencil set
  • A pencil pouch
  • A 6-inch ruler
  • Gummed, paper hole reinforcers
  • An 8.5x11-inch spiral notebook
  • Graph paper
  • Fitness uniform: T-shirt, shorts, socks, and tennis shoes. The T-shirts and shorts may be purchased at your school.
  • A glue stick
  • A pink eraser

Bell Schedule

Junior high school start times range between 7:25 am and 7:55 am. End times range between 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm. Click the name of the junior high in the left pane to find the specific bell times for that particular school. For additional questions, contact the junior high school office.

Interim Progress Reports and Report Cards

Interim progress reports are available to parents online via Home Access Center (HAC) three times each semester. The approximate dates that they will be available via HAC are listed below. Reports cards are submitted two times a year. The first semester report card is sent home with students, while the second semester report card is mailed home.

First Semester

  • Interim Progress Report #1: October 2009
  • Interim Progress Report #2: November 2009
  • Interim Progress Report #3: December 2009
  • First Semester Report Card: February 2010

Second Semester

  • Interim Progress Report #1: March 2010
  • Interim Progress Report #2: April 2010
  • Interim Progress Report #3: May 2010
  • Second Semester Report Card: June 2010

Report card dates may be adjusted per district data processing procedures or calendar adjustments due to any changes to the school calendar. However, they are to be the same for all secondary schools.

Parent Conferences

Parent conferences will not take place this year at the junior high level. Parents are welcome at any time to schedule an individual conference with their student's teacher. Requests will be gladly accommodated.
