Meet MILLIE
Meet MILLIE logoMILLIE - Puyallup School District's
STEAM Mobile Innovation Lab

Millie is brought to you by the Puyallup School District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department. It is run by three Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSAs), Katie Ventura, Melissa Ashton, and Jeremy Roy.

Millie is designed to provide all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students an opportunity to experience hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities. These will allow the students to explore different CTE career pathways that they can take once they reach high school! There will also be community experiences at football games and community events.

For the 2022-2023 school year, Millie will be visiting all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes in the district starting in late September. During their week-long Millie challenge students will actively engage in solving authentic career-based scenarios. Students will spend 2-3 days before Millie arrives learning about the topics and developing skills that will be utilized while on Millie. Students will then spend 45-75 minutes aboard Millie participating in hands-on STEAM challenges. The Millie challenge culminates back in the classroom where students will synthesize their experiences and a create communication artifacts.
