Other than those items specifically required by the statute, all decisions relating to philosophy or doctrine, selection of books, teaching materials, and curriculum methods, etc. are the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide the materials and equipment necessary to meet the planned objectives for
home-based instruction.
Please Consider Our Puyallup Parent Partnership Program!
The Puyallup Parent Partnership Program (P4) is the K-8 homeschool alternative learning experience of the Puyallup School District where guardians are the primary teachers at home. P4 students have the choice of using the district grade level curriculum or our fully online curriculum. Our certificated teacher provides support and accountability, answering questions or offering trainings as needed, and we offer onsite classes designed to support the home learning experience (these classes may be held virtually at this time). For more information, you may visit our website.
Ancillary Services
Ancillary services are any co-curricular service or activity, any health care service or activity, and any other services or activities, except “courses", for pre-school through twelfth grade students.
A student must meet the district’s prerequisites in order to participate in a sport or activity through his/her resident school.
Parent/guardian(s) wishing to avail themselves of ancillary services from the Puyallup School District must file a completed Declaration of Intent form and Form 2166 F2, Request for Part-Time Attendance or Ancillary Services From a Student Receiving Home-Based Instruction. Please complete Form 2166 F2, Request for Part-Time Attendance or Ancillary Services From a Student Receiving Home-Based Instruction. (This form can be found by clicking on the link, or you can pick one up at our district office located at 302 2nd St. SE, Puyallup.) Once on file, parent/guardian(s) will be given a copy of these forms to take to their student’s resident school and work with the principal in accessing the available services.
