In-District Transfer

Students who live in the Puyallup School District and wish to attend a school other than their resident school in the next school year must complete the appropriate in-district transfer request and submit it by the deadlines indicated below.

Due to overcrowding and high enrollment, not every school in the Puyallup School District is open for in-district transfers. Enrollment at the following schools is closed for the 2022-23 school year (this list is subject to change).

*Families with new students who live outside of these school-specific attendance boundaries can email their intra-district transfer or non-resident waiver applications to [email protected] Once their transfer request/non-resident waiver is processed, their student(s) will be placed on a waiting list upon request.

IN-DISTRICT TRANSFER APPROVAL CRITERIA

Transfer requests are considered on a first-come, first-served basis and are based on the following criteria:

There is adequate capacity in the school (acceptance of the transfer should not cause a hardship on resident
           students).

The student demonstrates regular attendance, academic effort, and conformance with school disciplinary standards.

The parent is willing and able to provide timely transportation. (District transportation is provided only if desired
school is within their attendance area).

The school offers a program suitable to meet the educational and other needs of the student.

If the student on an approved transfer does not meet these criteria, the principal will communicate expectations to the parent and student, and the transfer may be revoked.
