To our Puyallup staff,
A
word of thanks to all for the preparations and the effort to make
certain that our school year, in service to each child, gets off to a
great start. It has been very gratifying to see the work over the course
of the summer by all support staff. The schools and the school grounds
look exceptional, the buses are ready to run, and our food service folks
are prepared starting day one to serve over 15,000 meals each day!
Over
the last few weeks it has also been fun to see the number of students
participating in co-curricular activities under the leadership of fine
coaches, directors, and advisors. Providing the opportunity for so many
of our students to be positively involved in our schools creates a
climate of inclusion and a place for each student to be successful.
I
am so impressed with the work that I have seen taking place with regard
to the improvement of instruction and the efforts to make certain that
all students are prepared for a meaningful post-secondary opportunity.
From pre-school and kindergarten classrooms, elementaries, junior highs,
high schools and alternative programs, staff are prepared to serve and
help our kids grow.
I
also want everyone to know that as our community continues to grow by
leaps and bounds, the needs that have been expressed to the community
with regard to the coming bond issue are very real and urgent. Please
help remind our neighbors to register to vote and to cast their ballot
in the coming election.
Thanks to everyone for your work and your commitment to the children of Puyallup. We have a great community and great schools.
Best wishes on the start of the 2015-16 school year.
Tim
