PSD Connectivity: March 5, 2021
March is such an exciting time of year. From blossoms to baseball, we have a spring in our step as we think about warmer weather and outdoor activities. Now with the fantastic news about vaccines being on the way for school staff, we are very optimistic that educators will be vaccinated sooner than previously expected.
The district is working closely with the Health Department and other community partners to provide educator access to vaccinations. The Health Department’s goal is for all teachers to have at least one vaccine dose by the end of March. As vaccines become available, we will be working to communicate vaccine locations and support for employees.
Even with vaccines being distributed, health and safety protocols will still be actively enforced in our schools with staff and students. Vaccines are just one countermeasure against disease transmission. Now is not the time to loosen the reigns on daily health screens, face masks, and social distancing. We need to continue to work together in our fight against COVID-19 so that our schools remain safe places to learn.
In service and support,
Dr. John Polm
