Classes resume as scheduled at ERHS and GVJH

3:25 p.m. This morning Puyallup Police Department was notified of a threat of school violence specifically directed at Emerald Ridge High School. Out of an abundance of caution for our students, staff, and community, classes were cancelled at Emerald Ridge High School. Because of the proximity of campuses, classes at Glacier View Junior High were also canceled.

Detectives from the Puyallup Police Department Major Crimes Unit, along with the FBI served a search warrant at a residence within the city limits of Puyallup today. Detectives recovered potential items of evidence from the residence and a suspect is now in custody.

Classes will resume as scheduled at both Emerald Ridge High School and Glacier View Junior High tomorrow, Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

We look forward to seeing all Puyallup students at school tomorrow, October 5, 2016.

Informational Releases from the Puyallup Police Department have been posted on the district website as updates. Please continue to watch for updates as they are posted.
