Congratulations to the Rogers High School Girls Soccer team. They have been identified by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) as Class 4A Fall State Academic Champions!

WIAA awards one team per sport with State Academic Champions every season. In order to receive this award, a team must hold the highest cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) for that sport in their division.

“I’m really proud of everyone’s hard work both academically and on the field” said Janelle Ariota, senior at Rogers High School.

The Rogers High School Girls Soccer team, led by coach JR Farias, earned a combined team GPA of 3.8, the highest GPA average in the 4A division.

JR Farias, head coach for the Rogers Girls Soccer team said in celebration “Overall this is just a great group of girls; as team mates and as students. They are a great representation of Rogers High School.”

The Rogers Girls Soccer team will be recognized by the Director of Instructional Leadership- Athletics, Health and Fitness, Rick Wells at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Puyallup School District Board of Directors on December 12 at Kalles Junior High beginning at 6 pm.

Rick Wells stated “This recognition is a solid testimonial of what commitment, determination, and dedication can do. We as staff, students, and parents in the Puyallup School District, the South Puget Sound League, and the State of Washington are proud of your accomplishment! I personally want to say WELL DONE on such a distinguished recognition and on reaching such a pinnacle point.”
