Stahl & Brouillet lockdown has been liftedShortly afternoon noon today, September 30, an off campus incident occurred and the Pierce County Sheriffs Office requested that Brouillet Elementary and Stahl JH go into lockdown. They were looking for an armed suspect in our neighborhood and for safety reasons recommended the lockdown.

Teachers continued instruction during this period, but children were not allowed to leave any buildings or portables. We did make arrangements for students to use the bathrooms. Please be assured, children were completely safe and secure within the building.

Within approximately 15 minutes the lockdown was reduced to "modified." This means that student movement is allowed, but limited to supervised escorts only while all doors remain locked.

For future reference, please know that the PSD Communications Department uses social media, school websites, and our mass communication system SchoolMessenger Communicate to quickly and efficiently communicate during lockdowns. Safety is always our first priority.
