The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. The six art categories are: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film Production.

Each year, Reflections challenges students to create art that supports a specific theme. This year’s Reflections theme is “What is Your Story?”  Students from 14 Puyallup schools showed creativity and talent in a wide variety of projects this year. Entries are judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme.

Puyallup PTA Council Reflections Chair Person, Maddie Names, coordinated the awards program at the Pavilion. “I love the Reflections program because it is such an amazing way the PTA, and our school community support all of the arts. I have a passion for kids who have a passion to be creative. It's not very often I get to facilitate creativity among our young film makers, dance choreographers, visual artists, photographers, writers, and music composers,” said Names.

She recognized the local PTA Reflections chair persons who “spend months preparing, planning and executing this program.”
