Firgrove Elementary School held their annual Title 1 Family Reading Night and Science Expo.  It was a wonderful evening full of reading activities and a science showcase.  Families were welcomed with a short choir performance with Mr. Tom Mitchell, music teacher to be followed by two hours of fun.

Students and their families were given a Passport full of fun activities from which to choose.  Reading bingo, flashlight reading, puppet making, read to one of 4 Therapy Dogs, listen to a story from a Daffodil Princess, complete a puzzle, pick up a snack, visit the Book Fair, look over the Science Fair projects or get a free Public library card from the South Hill Library youth librarian, Lisa Cipolla!  And if that wasn't enough....students could meet Elephant and Piggie and the Cat in the Hat and complete a Scavenger Hunt for a free book!

It was a wonderful evening due to the hard work by Firgrove staff, Communities in Schools, local high school support, Pilgrim Lutheran Church, PTA and so many others who care deeply for our students at Firgrove.
